After a some what restful night's sleep we woke up to see where we were. It was the first of many to experience how the same place can be so different in the daylight from the darkness of night. We quickly packed up the tent after taking a few representative photos. If it were daylight I would no have picked "that" site, but pitching the tent and getting to sleep was the priority the moment we arrived. We quickly checked in and checked out with the office and we were on our way. Another quick photo at the "main entrance", a quick poop by Sasha and we were on our way. Oh and that "spooky" road...It turned out to be quite the peaceful, lovely country road during the day!! We then got on the Skyline Drive as we entered the Shenandoah National Park. Our destination was The Great Smoky Mountain Naional Park, but not today. It was a gray day which made the mountains of pale green look unexciting. I couldn't stop thinking about being in the Southwest's blue skies and low humidity. I had enough humidity and green for now. Along the way we stopped for a photo of "Stony Man" the second highest peak in the park, photos of us with a "mountain" in the background, flowering vegetation and deer along the Skyline Drive and another cow photo. We stopped in Buena Vista, VA for dinner at Burger King and then headed to Morris Hill campsite in the George Washington National Forest.
