In late May, my son and I and two buddies rented a houseboat at Lansing, Iowa. We spent 4 days exploring and fishing the Mississippi river between Dams 8 and 9. We went upstream toward Dam 8. I've divided this gallery into 10 parts so you can pick and choose. It starts with the houseboats including a couple of shots of the interior. The second group is of the Lansing bridge; the third is just shots made while going upstream. The fourth group is the beach where we parked the houseboat; the fifth group shows a few (literally) of the barges that passed day and night. Group 6 is just a few shots made at dusk and at night. Group 7 is a shot of the most prevelant fish we found, the drum and includes a sequence of how to clean them. Group 8 shows some shots of an eagle that flew high over or far off but whom I finally captured a shot of. Group 9 consists of a few shots made in the vicinity of Dam 8 and Group 10 consists of some shots made on the trip back down river to Lansing. I hope you enjoy these shots.
