Seeing the fantastic hawk shots by Herbert Knufken yesterday, inspired me to do something with a set of shots I took at Gigrin Farm feeding station last may. The shots are mostly of wild red kites, plus a few buzzards and other birds. I have been busy with other photo projects and hadn't got around to working on these until today. I have made a good start on them, but there are a lot to work through so it will probably take me a few days to finish them. Expect another couple of kite shots for my next PaDs.
Although this is one of the few shots that doesn't show the head properly, I like it because the sun is on the bird showing it's colours to best advantage and the bird is in the middle of a typical twisting turn to go after some morsel of meat it has spotted.
As always, I appreciate all comments good or bad, so please let me know your thoughts. Thanks.
UPDATE: I have now finished processing these shots. To see the rest of the Gigrin Farm gallery, just click on the thumbnail below - showing a red kite swallowing a large piece of chicken, while keeping a wary eye on the telephoto lens poking out from the hide. That will take you to the first image in the gallery.
