This stunning looking creature, strutting his stuff at Whipsnade zoo, might look like the result of selective breeding by enthusiasts trying to create yet another fancy breed of chicken. However, this is a Jungle Fowl, the original wild ancestor of the domestic chicken we all know and love (especially in a nice wine sauce).

After the last two nights efforts, which involved quite a bit of work in Photoshop, tonights had to be quite quick as I got in from work quite late. Looking through all the folders of shoots I haven't yet got around to processing (it's been a very busy summer) I chose one of the zoo shoots as being a likely candidate for something quick and easy. I wanted something colourful as it's been a horrible wet and grey day today, so I picked this chap. Total PS work: a nudge in levels and a resize.

I have four zoo shoots from the summer to process, plus an owl sanctuary, so expect a lot of animal shots on here over the winter as I dip into them and process them bit by bit.
