In case you are wondering why I called this group of shots 'Old and new', it is simply that these two buildings are widely differing in age, but blend together perfectly. This smaller building, on the right, was built in 1704, whilst the building next to it was built only a few years ago.
Many of these old medieval towns actually consist of mostly modern buildings nowadays, due to the original townships being levelled by Allied bombers during the war. It is a tribute to the builders that the towns have retained their character despite this.
