Here we have our image open in PSCS2 and the Layers Palette is open. It shows that we currently have only one layer. Our next step is to create a DUPLICATE layer. To create a DUPLICATE LAYER, first find the menu items at the top of the page: FILE, EDIT, IMAGE, LAYER, SELECT, FILTER, VIEW, WINDOW, HELP. We will be working with LAYERS, so click on LAYER. One of the items on the drop-down list is DUPLICATE LAYER. Click on this to create a DUPLICATE LAYER. Then proceed to the next slide.
