I shot this image of "Whitey" while on a tour of
the Philippines in February 2006.

Here is an image that was indirectly inspired by
the Japanese Photography Magazines. I did not take
the shot thinking of this, but when I reviewed it,
it made me think of those street, and back alley
daily life images I had seen in the magazines. Photos
that people often pass over quickly, but offer you something
about another society if you look a little deeper.

This is an average, everyday scene of what it looks
like in someone's Manila backyard, a tale of another
culture. These are the kind of images I am after.
