8. Manila: First Impressions

I know this is an odd choice for a photo, but it was the first
thing that really struck me photographically upon arriving at
my humble abode in Metro Manila. On the ride from the airport
to my Manila residence, I was struck at how much the city reminded
me of Bangkok. The lights, the traffic, the smells...it all looked so
familiar. But I would soon find this to be a different, and intoxicating
city. The image above, to me, represents what Metro Manila is. A
compelling blend of the old, and new. Of prosperity, and urban decay.

it's an old "male" plug...rusted and dangling uselessly. Served it's purpose in it's heyday. At one time, he was hot stuff. Now it's days are gone by.
