Dungeness River

Sequim, Washington, USA

The glacier- and snow-melt-fed Dungeness drops 7,300 feet in its 32-mile length. It's a valuable salmon fishery but is under great pressure due the need for water in the arid rainshadow of the Olympic Mountains. Salmon stocks are pressured due to loss of habitat, demands for water, and commercial fishing. View downstream from the Old Railroad Bridge near Sequim, Washington.
