'Memoirs'...hmmmm. Has this always been the title for this group of images? Has something changed? A shift? (Or do I just float around with my eyes shut half the time, as per usual! LOL) Memoirs suggests, to me, a history - past memories, rather than current struggles. Or, the struggle is with the past? Dealing with what -was-, as opposed to what -is-. Something's definitely different...

hey you, i know its been a while since we spoke but i thought that i would check out you work. i will be completely honest, i am sitting here crying! what attracts me to photography is that it is such a powerful way of communicating with people when there really are no words that do justice, and i really think that this series of photos show (in no uncertain terms) just how deeply raw and painful life can be. thanks honey for showing the world and being a voice for those who dont know how to speak; youre a fantastic and hugely talented photograher whose work is immensely moving (hence the tears). Ruth, you have an incredible gift. There are those of us who can only watch in ore of such talent and insight. Your honesty is almost brutal. I am so pleased that your work has been published, I think the World needs to see itself through your eyes, no matter how painful that may be for them. I once asked someone what could be achieved if a camera could photograph the inside of the mind, now I think we are closer to finding out than we ever have been. You are a unique person Ruth Hanson, the World needs to learn from you, we can only learn if you are here to teach……We all have reasons for existence and I think maybe that you have found one of yours. Ruth, I have never been so touched by a series of images. Powerful, passionate, intense, raw and full of absolute guts. An insight into a very personal world and a privilege to be a part of it. These images hold a key to an understanding, of knowing that life is a journey and not always an easy one. You are clearly a very beautiful girl but your eyes haunt me. What goes on inside us is for us to know and only the closest to us ever to ever find out, however, in your gallery I think you have given your soul. I can't pick a favourite, each one has touched me and so I vote for the gallery x
