bubble protection is good for a while in the life (specially is we had some hard experiencies in our history); but after some time, what used to help us will finally stop our development and evolution... so, we are challenged to open up again our heart to life.
you can scream if you want it, Ruth... your voice is still there... waiting :)

You are looking at the world through a non transparant layer, people look scary and smudged, places distorted and not familiar your words muffled and non identifiable behind the thick warm horrid plastic,,your brightness should be shared to heal the 95% they need to learn, they have to know the other side to be inspired and smile with warm spontaneaty, they have to be guided through the world of difference,, they need the 5%. Free yourself and stand high, your soul will shine. x

Wrapped up in the safety of the bubbles, one could say that in this way you could walk around the world and nothing could harm you. Yes... you are safe from all perils in this way, execept.... from your yourself....

The previous SP was indeed very raw and one could imediately indentify the pain. This one is far more subtle and open to many other interpretations and in this way I find it much more powerful.
I like it a lot!!

As usual, I agree with jude’s incisive comments. The distortion created by bubblewrap could also imply the idea that self-expression, and the perception of self by other is always ‘through a glass darkly’; to paraphrase Emily Dickenson, sense doesn’t break through, tying us up in knots, suffocating us. Excellent SP, Ruth.

That same bubble warp is extra thick around your mouth...what we use to soften pain, that is what can stifle our screaming. Powerful as always. K

WOW The bandaged picture one is quite powerful and it almost is to raw for me to be look at. I think that it is incredible when you can evoke such feelings in someone. I also prefer the bubble wrap one. But both deserve a compliment and a vote.

Looking at the two together, I prefer the bubble wrap one to the bandage.. it strikes me harder. Or maybe it's just that the gauze-wrapped one is so raw.. touchable. The plastic holds you apart - protected from others. Do you feel cushioned? Do you feel unbreakable? Or do you just want to smother the feelings?
I hope the photographing of your feelings is theraputic and not heightening the angst you feel. Pay attention to the difference.. it's subtle, but one can lead you down a path you need not take.

Living in a bubble can prevent the pain from getting in, but at the same time it locks in your mind, your gift, your beauty. Having a soft, cushioned defense barrier may feel safe, but it's suffocating you. Ultimately, it's dangerous. Burst out, Ruthie! Breathe!
