My First 'Real' Yarder - A 1970's Pedal Toy

A co-worker of my dad's built this for us as kids- his name was R.L. 'Bob' House. Powered with a bicycle
pedal assembly, rigged and ran just like the real thing! 2 drums (with brakes) and we rigged it for all different
types of logging systems. Bob built smaller-scale firewood yarders as well- see the 'Firewood Yarders' gallery.
Bob took the time to teach me the art of rigging systems, and he built us battery-powered scale yarders and we
rigged all manner of logging layouts in our basement at night as kids. Soonafter I was building lego yarders and
yarding 'Lincoln Logs' from my landings at the top of the stairways. What a fine childhood it was with my yarders!
