TY-90 Brochure Cover 1986

The 1986 Thunderbird TY-90 brochure cover featured TY-90 Serial Number 9044, sold new to Sapp Brothers Logging of
Alsea Oregon in 1985. As you can see it was mounted to a Skagit T-100 self-propelled tower which has been upgraded with the
big Anderson-Boling steering axles usually found on the T-110HD self-propelled units-- 8 steering tires on her.
Knuckle-joints were an ongoing problem with the Sculler steering axles on the standard T-100 SP units when used
with bigger and heavier slackline yarder hoists. in 1997 the machine sold to Phoenix Logging at Craig Alaska.

Hello there, great series of towers. I ran a three stage 110 foot Skajet tower in 1964 in a place called Mahatta River on the north end of Vancouver island. great to see some of these yarders. I was 19 years old at the time. The coolest thing I ever did was help a guy rig a standing tree that was quite an experiance. Arthur from the West Coast of Canada
