December 9: SP Friday – Lies, Damned Lies

Rancho Bernardo, CA

We had a bit of a respite on the weather today and produced a plus 70 degree day which made a nice opportunity to grab a quick SP in the sun at Rancho Bernardo Inn.

NOT

It is true about the weather, but in reality see below for photography setup that came by UPS this afternoon. I need to work on how to handle the shadows and light angles, however with the “green screen” background it was just one click of the mouse to remove the screen. Then it was easy to paste in a background of my choice.
What great fun!!!

Oh boy! We're going to see you in lots of exotic locales now! I can hardly wait. You've found the secret of how to beat high airfares. ;-)

Good work, Robin! Now you can practice being a TV weatherman, too. Don't they work in front of green screens or blue screens? Anyway, nice work, and congrats on the (newest) toy!

I will enjoy watching your experiments with the green screen Robin. Really looks like a clean cut, the only thing that I think might give it away is that there might need to be a little blending around your edges. How that's done I haven't a clue. Keep messing with this, please.

oh, now I see where the avatar came from. Okay. I would say you did a nice job here and would add that light angles and shadow are tricky I think. This almost looks natural. Maybe too much light on your face on the right side of the frame here. And maybe, just maybe you need a bit more contrast and a squosh more blur on the background? I don't know. I would say you did quite a good job.

I can't believe the trouble you go through to learn something. A lesson for all of us. Regards Robin.
