August 27: Grand Teton Mountain

Grand Teton NP

I don't really get steamed up about geysers, so it is doubly ironic that I'm spending the night at the Old Faithful Lodge.

But allow me to spout off about a few things.

Be sure to go to my early posts on my new **Tetons/Yellowstone** gallery. The day again was picture perfect, there were very few people in the Park, and I was able to stop and shoot amazing scenes frequently.

I was fortunate to get several early morning images in Grand Teton NP before driving north to Yellowstone. Here I made the grand loop circuit pausing at night for dinner and an incredible view of Old Faithful at sunset (naturally I had left my camera in the room). ;-(

The Lodge has no phone service or high speed internet. So for the first time in almost 1 1/2 years I missed my daily post and am putting this up on the 28th.

Finally, the cute female server at the dining room carving station was from the Ukraine and spoke very poor English. We had a very difficult time communicating as I expressed my desire for a full rare cut of prime rib; therefore the end result, I think, is that I'm now engaged to her. LOL

More later. I am having a whee of a time!!!!

Very beautiful, for sure. I'm so happy that you've gotten to spend so much time traveling around and seeing such great places. But I gotta tell ya - I wish I were there with you to enjoy it, my friend.

Beautiful, Robin! The tetons are truly majestic! Congratulations on your engagement! I'm pretty sure I'm available to photograph the event. Hope your prime rib wasn't too overcooked. Love you!

Old Faithful Lodge is my favorite place; are you staying in the Old House? the part of the lodge with the bathroom down the hall? I love to stay there and sit on the balcony in the evening and listen to the sound of the place...
