August 26: Passing Wind ;-)

Wind River, Du Bois, WY

The caption is not what you think.

After winding up my visit to Colorado I bid**farewell** early this morning, and wended my way Northwest following the Wind River toward the Grand Teton NP.

It was a picture perfect day ;-) and I was on cruise control most of the time in sparse traffic winding along Highway 287 across Wyoming. I wound up my day here at Jackson Lodge.

The Wyoming winds, however, were fierce. I'd say they were gusting around 40 mph at least. However the route from Lander into the Park was a jaw dropping experience; it was just plain gorgeous late in the day.

I did get out of the car to take some shots and almost got stuck driving to this one near Du Bois. Below is one glancing back to the East as you enter the Park.

Alas, I am getting too windy, and it is time for me to wind down this dialogue. More tomorrow night.

I'm not so sure you wended...didn't you wound? Whatever -- this is a good shot of a very scenic place! You will have a LOT Of work when you get home, sorting through all these wonderful scenic shots to create the perfect slide show.

Love the red earth against the blue sky. So glad to see you're taking your time driving back to SD. It's a gift to all of us!

"The aerodynamics work! He's breaking wind at 90!" I wonder why this quote from "The Big Bus" sprang to mind!

This is lovely country, passed through there last year.

Fantastic. Raw rugged area. Rich colors. And I hear it's windey at times.

LOL at bandito! I have always loved Wyoming for its gorgeous landscapes. Have even considered moving there. These are some beautiful shots of the wide open spaces of WY. Well done!

AFWL buddy. Nobody on pbase knows how you pass wind like we do ... don't be trying to fool us! But this is a beautiful shot. A very different kind of landscape than colorado. Looking forward to lots of nice shots from you.
