Now That You Have Won How About Closing The Borders Mr. President
Guest 07-Nov-2004 23:10
That's funny - one of the previous posters made a reference to Bush's "handlers". I have this mental picture of Bush as a petulant little kid surrounded by big adults, Colin Powell etc.

I'm disappointed Bush won, because I think we'll be darn close to a police state in two years.

Oh well.

Nice PS work!

Robin, thank you for your thoughts and for standing tall for your beliefs. I'm not angry at anyone either. We need to learn to have a healthy dialogue and learn from each other.

Robin, A good political statement, and is that not what photography is about to communicate? To share a vision with the viewer? I have read many of the comments and feel compelled to add mine. I am a conservative. I don't hate anyone. I don't want to stop anyone from living their life as they see fit. And, I do know how to have fun ;) Why am I a conservative? Because I don't want the government to take care of me. I don't want them to protect me from myself and I don't want them regulate my life. In my opinion the purpose of Government is to protect our constitutional rights, provide for defense, and to promote the general welfare. I feel that the more of our lives we give to the government the more they will want. There are things on which I agree with Bush, there are things on which I disagree with him but at the end of the day a choice had to be made. I saw one person talk about conservatives being afraid to identify themselves, well I am probably opening myself up to people hating me or in the future ignoring me, but that is an individual choice by each person. Again, I hate no one and I don't want to control anyone in fact I want the government to get out of most of our business and let us all live our lives in the unalienable right of the pursuit of happiness.

Pepe has given the keyword here. The reason why the democrates where not interested to win this election was clear. If Kerry wind this one, he sits himself between two chairs, facing world politics who's desire was indeed to see Bush continue what he started. The expression of the people worldwide and the politics differs and if one says that the whole world wanted Kerry, this is a people's opinion. The politics saw this in a different way and even the majority of Arabs Leaders wanted Bush to go on.
Now, the reverse of the medal is that if Kerry wins this one, he has to compete for continuation in 5 years or face a defeat and resign for the candidate they have choosen to compete by that time. The most prosper time to compete for a presidency is when a country has been driven down to the edge and Bill Clinton showed this clearly when he was elected and broughtethe US up to top level.
Obviously, if Kerry wins, ha will close the door for the carreer of Hillary Clinton that will come again in a prosper moment with 2 aces to play. The first being the dsiastrous economy of the States and the second to be the first female human to become president of the US.
This is a game Kerry could not block of and during his campaign he made so many controversal things to leave the better cards th Bush who won it the way it was thought anyway. So was it written, so it became.

LOL Robin, you did this so well, but I think a pile of poop or puke would be better! I brace myself to see what this administration will do next, the SS reform scares the hell out of me. Hold on everyone, the next 4 years will be a rough ride.

Well and politely said.

Like Gen. McAuliffe at Bastogne, I suspect your (and for many of us) first thoughts were unpublishable. I know mine were rare and not to be uttered around small children.

Nothing like a cold beer to wash down some salty nuts. ;)

Well done ... couldn't possibly agree more.

I'm an American and I'm quite perplex with America and deeply troubled by what this mad man will do now that he has been convinced by his handlers that he not only has 'god's' mandate but the peoples. Both are of course absurd.
Guest 03-Nov-2004 22:47
Cool... This is the BUSH brain...
It wants to control the whole world, that means all the countries must vote, for the moment only America voted...

Stu03-Nov-2004 22:26
I sat up all night watching the results coming in on BBC and CNN. It all started out so well.
Cliff03-Nov-2004 22:25
I concur.

In 4 years we will have Hillary Clinton vs Jeb Bush!
Call me crazy but I’m ready for a woman president!
Guest 03-Nov-2004 21:39
Interesting, fun and deep image today Robin. I`ve noticed that you didn`t even write a caption, as usual, wich tell me that you are really feeling terrible. I found the coments of the people here interesting and good for debate.

As our current Governor, Miguel Aleman, said in September, when we voted for governor for the State of Veracruz and again de PRI party won, "In Democracy you can win or lose just by one vote" This was facing the protest from many people who argues electoral fraud. I understand your feeling today because I was feeling that way that morning of september 6th when the candidate for PRI won for Governor.

I think the citizens of the USofA should provide a please explain answer of what went wrong. Some many people in public didn't like the guy yet he still won. Nuts puts it very politely.

I doubt that "guest" is a liberal; most of the time it's the OTHER side that hides in anonymity or obfuscation rather than just say what's on their minds. I rarely suffer from that.... :^)
And, how the heck are we supposed to work with a group that wants to destroy us and the way we want our government to be; the reason that Bush and company are doing what they're doing is because they're a movement that doesn't accept the legitimacy of the current political system. They want a revolution. The most awful thing about this outcome today is the intolerance for dissent that has become the huge split in our country; all of it fostered by the right.

On need to see behind the scene, Robin, to know and understand why Kerry lost this elections and above all why the democrates where not interested at all to win those.
The world is in deep crisis on one side and Bush was sitting between 2 chairs at the moment and Kerry was for sure not interested to see someone pulling out one of the both under his ass. If one has followed the campaign Kerry did and has seen behind the scene and read between the lines, one knew right away the he was not interested in winning this election. On one side, the democrates had no better candidate and if Kerry wins this one, he blocks the way to the candidate they have choosen for the next election in 5 years and that one will win it. If he wins it, he will need to run the same again in 5 years and this will block off the candidate of the future, the one that is choosen by now and that is preparing for the task. So lets see if George is able to continue on his way and manage to get the US out of the shit or if he will sink deeper in it. Note that I have been a secretary of the democratic party in my country once and still today move in the political environment every day since I am functioneer of the European Parliament in Brussels. What people think and say and what is told and known in political environment are quiete different points of view.

Forgive my rant, Robin. To the unnamed "Guest" below who doesn't even have the courage to use a real name, I take offense to your comment that negativity is what hampers liberal thinking. Mr. Bush and the NeoCons ran the most negative campaign they could imagine. I'm disgusted with the tactics of the right wing.

That said, I think Robin's picture is an excellent example of GOOD sportsmanship. Personally, I feel a lot stronger than "nuts!" but this isn't my image. It's his. Robin, you did a good job here. The image shows feeling and is fun at the same time. I doubt the right wing knows what having fun even is.
Guest 03-Nov-2004 20:13
A sad day for me.
Guest 03-Nov-2004 20:09
This is the kind of negativity that has always hampered liberal thinking.
We can't work together if we won't work together.

Maybe a big pile of poop would be a good idea!!
