Here is an explaination of two ways to tether "remote" viewing from your camera, if it has a "Video OUT" function,
through the video cable supplied with your camera. Remote viewing can be used in conjuction with a
"remote shutter control" system for shooting in any number of situations.

Requires a Laptop PC with a PCMCIA slot plus an additional TV cardbus. More information is below the first image.
Pro: Larger screen viewing; on-hand storage; on-hand editing.
Con: Expensive; cable connection to PCMCIA TV Cardbus is delicate, especially in outside field work.

Requires a DVD player with "VIDEO IN" capability (only a few do), and "phono adapter" (image #2A below), along with camera's
supplied video cable. Unit shown is Sony DVP-FX810 8" LCD Portable DVD Player with up to 5.5 hours of rechargeable battery life.
Pro: Smaller, lighter - more portable; Simple sturdy connection.
Cons: No on-hand storage or editing available. Less resolution than a Laptop PC.
Model DVP-FX810 released in 2006 has an LCD resolution of 480 x 220. Resolution of the 2008 model DVP-FX820 is 800 x 480.
