I took a shot of a candle inside a glass cage and I get this double image. However, the wick flames are not complementary.

1/50s f/5.0 at 68.0mm iso400 full exif

The actual flame's direction is towards you. The flames in the reflection is away from you. It's complementary based on the reflection.
