Groombridge Place, Kent: 27 March 2005

A 17th century moated house in Kent, set in 200 acres of wooded parkland and with a series of magnificent formal and walled gardens. One of my favourite films - Peter Greenaway's "The Draughtsman's Contract" was filmed here in 1982 (See http://petergreenaway.co.uk/draughtsman.htm).

WOW and double WOW. It is a beautiful home and grounds. I would love to visit this home of my ancestors. I am a direct descendent of Logan Daniel Waller (son of Isabelle Umstead). Researching my families history is wonderful. Thanks to all who keep the Waller history alive and well.

I have a very lovely print of an English home entitled "Groombridge" by an artist whose first name is illegible but whose last name is Caldwell, is there a connection? I would love to see more of this artist's work.

Rose, I loved your photos. They are my first glance at what is my families ancestral home. The Wallers lived bought the estate in 1400 and lived there for 200 years. Thank you for letting me see it.
