Heart of the Middle Mosel and 17 kilometers away from Bernkastel, the largest 'city' in the region. In Roman times wine already was made here. The best wines come from the steep slopes, such as Piesporter-Goldtröpfchen and Himmelreich (the latter in general being not as splendid as the first). Piesport is a quiet, clean ancient village. Lots of houses date from the 18th century. Riesling is the most famous grape variety here.
