Category Aviation Books, Subcategory Preservation,Vintage,Musea,W&R, ISBN/Box 9789402149548, Publisher Brave New Books, Author Roel van Gestel, Format a4, No. Pages 136, Version hb, Language English.
Some may simply refer to AMARG as 'the boneyard', but this facility near Davis-Monthan AFB is so much more. It is the end for numerous aircraft and helicopters, but it is also the beginning for many others. Lots of airframes are stripped of hard to find items. These reclaimed spare parts find their way to active aircraft in US-service or abroad. Other aircraft fly out. Back into service, as a future drone, a foreign military sale or as a much needed fire fighter. Even as scrap metal there still is a solid revenue. AMARG Impressions shows a part of the recent inventory. Pima Air & Space Museum and some of the local scrapyards are checked out too, from both the ground and the air. You will have a good and detailed view on the aircraft of yesteryear which still are of importance today.

Analogue SLR's I use - Minolta & Praktica
Analogue photography means going back to film. Fortunately, more people rediscover this 'slow photography', when you have to go back to what you learned decades ago. My love especially goes to the two brands I started with: Praktica (from the GDR) and Minolta (from Japan). Both don't exist anymore, but the hardware still goes around. I still own my 1987-purchased Minolta and picked up a few extra cameras recently...
Military aviation from 2005 onwards
With no current and nearby enemies, military aviation in Europe was only a glimpse of what it used to be 20+ years before. Better cameras for less aviation quality

Military aviation between 1995-2005
Gone was the cold war, but local conflicts emerged. New tasks, new aircraft. A lot of old hardware was retired in these years.

Military aviation between 1985-1995
Military aviation from the golden era... Before and shortly after the cold war, lots of beautiful aircraft could be photographed in Europe. An extra bonus from 1989 onwards were MiG's, Sukhois and Antonovs of the (former) WarPac. Once hidden behind a gone iron curtain, now open to see for anybody. If you were in time...

Family cars and their stories
Cars... If you like airplanes and helicopters, you may like cars as well. Not the new ones, but oldies and their stories. My family and I have had some nice cars. I photographed some interesting ones with a story. Enough of airplanes? Check out these cars...
Nordschleife Specials
The German Nordschleife is part of the famous Nurburgring. This 'Green Hell' offers pleasure and pain to anyone who dares to challenge it! Some pre-production cars I spotted are pictured here.
