Saab J-35Ö Draken 02 of Flieger Regiment 3 pictured departing from Gilze-Rijen. The ex-Swedish Drakens served between 1989 and 2005, replacing J-29's in the 1980's and being replaced by ex-Swiss (leased) F-5E's in the new millennium. There were no Sk-35C duals in service with the Austrians. Training of crews took place in Sweden. From 1993 onwards, the J-35Ö's were equipped with AIM-9 Sidewinders next to the standard twin Aden guns.
