When the T-Bird was designed and entered service, the sole use of it was limited to flying. After a couple of decades, just flying seemed boring. So you use the aircraft for more domestic tasks, proven by T-33A 51-17522 with RThAF s/n 56113, withdrawn from (what?) use at Chiang Mai :)
