Accepted on 30th April 1969, one day after my birth... CH-46E 156444/MQ-424 (c/n 2514) of HMM-774 from NAS Norfolk (VA) is pictured inbound Davis-Monthan AFB. This Sea Knight probably arrived to pick up a crew this particular day and I was glad to catch it. The CH-46's have been retired in large numbers over the last couple of years and many of await their rotorless fate in the Arizona desert. The pictured 156444 was withdrawn from use in October 2014 and joined its brothers and sisters at AMARG.
