Catalina Tile

Tile is everywhere in Catalina, it's famous for its artistic tile. I started taking photos of the different types, and quickly realized there were a whole lot. Here are some samples.

The beach scene tile, seaplane, and the Catalina Fountain (repair) was made by my father Marlo Bartels of Laguna Beach CA. I, Jesse Bartels , am doing reproductions of all old California tiles as well as my own designs. 949 315 1832 Nice Page!

18 of the 40 tile images on this page are tiles made by RTK Studios of Ojai, California.
RTK Studios has been making tile in this genre for 32 years... they designed and made the 24 tile murals that are installed along the waterfront promenade leading to the Avalon Casino as well as the 10"wide by 20"tall tile Mermaid Mural above the Casino ticket booth.

Is there anyone who is reproducing the Taylor tile scenes. I would like to set some murals in the walls of my 1930s home but originals are so expensive. I know they are reproducing the catalina island parrot tiles.

I have just purchased a table with the santa barbara mission done in two shades of aqua, orange, purple and white. It is surrounded by by smaller plain black and dark aqua tiles and set into a dark oak table. The picture is made up of 4 tiles each just under 6" square. Do you know if this would be catalina tile and who the artist might be.
