The giant chedi, covered with gold, is the dominant sight inside the temple. Inside the chedi there are Buddha relics.
'Phra That' means 'holy bone' in Thai. The chedi is surrounded by four golden "umbrella's".
Like many temples in Thailand, there are elements of Hinduism mixed in with Buddhism. Wat Phra That has an intriguing array of statues, including the Hindu god Ganesh, peek out from corners, cubby holes and from the sides of temple buildings.
I used a Canon 20mm prime for this shot (32mm equivalent on the Canon 10D). Still not wide enough!
