Creek from Escondido Lake. I later found this was the Cooper River. A few weeks earlier I had to use the log to cross. I could hear the creek still running up stream and I did have to cross it higher up on the trail on steping stones. The river apparent soaks into the ground at lower flow rates before it reaches the main flow coming from Pete lake.
