This hike started at Pete's Lake Trail head near Cooper Lake. From Pete's Lake hiked over Waptus Pass to Waptus Lake and forded the Waptus River. From Waptus Lake I took the Spade Lake Trail up to the PCT and headed south. The trail after crossing the Waptus river on a bridge strong enough for horses does a slow climb up to junction with the Waptus Burn Trail. The Waptus Burn Trail takes one back to Waptus Pass were I backtrack down to Pete's Lake and back to the trail head. Mileage for the day was almost 28 miles and over 4500 feet elevation gain and loss.
