This is one of a series of 4 photos taken from the car of a bird marked with a green-over-purple marking on the back of its head that was captured at Logan Airport and released on January 28th. According to Norman it has subsequently been hanging out at Sandy Neck Beach in Barnstable, MA. Apparently we caught it on its way back north. Norman had it on 3/6 on the southern (Saquish) part of Duxbury Beach and we had it on 3/7 on the northern part, i.e. north of High Pines.

It was a fidgity bird this day and even before we learned that it had been wintering at Sandy Beach we suspected that it might be in transit.
