Coyote along roadside between High Pines and 3rd crossover

These photos (2 taken on 4/29 and 3 on 5/1/2012) may be two different individuals but probably not. On 5/1 it was raining and so the fur looks different. The 4/29 photos show what looks like a growth near the left eye that does not appear in the 5/1 photos. The other markings look very similar if not identical so perhaps it is something that was rubbed off or dropped off (seems too brown and dark for an engorged tick). If not these would be 2 different individuals - not good for the birds that will nest in the area like Piping Plovers and Willets.
