Coyote - Duxbury Beach - April 29, 2012 [1 of 2]

This individual was walking the bayside shore from the 3rd crossover up toward High Pines. Note what looks like a brown growth over the left eye. This isn't apparent on the individual taken on May 1st which follow the first 2 in this series.

If the photos are of two different individuals that would be odd because I've never gotten this close to a coyote and to do it from the car in essentially the same spot would be statistically surprising if they were in fact two different animals.

I think the "brown growth " is an engorged tick that may have dropped off by the time you saw the coyote again.

All of your photos are spectacular--especially of birds--thank you for sharing

Nice photos of the coyotes. Maybe it is a pair and that is why you saw two different individuals at the same spot.
