Pre Rup (¤R¨½Ãf) is an architecturally and artistically superior temple-mountain, possessing beautifully carved false doors on upper level, as well as excellent views of the surrounding countryside. Traditionally believed to be a funerary temple, Pre Rup was in fact the state temple of Rajendravarman II. It was historically important in that it was only the second temple built after the capital was returned to Angkor.
