Tulips

Judges Comments

The wonderful rich pink red of the tulips against the green leaves and black background is very pleasing to look at. The image is nearly 60% black background and the eye is drawn by the composition to the bottom of the plant as it appears cut off and the viewer could be left wondering about the missing part of the plant. You might like to play around with cropping to fill the frame more with the subject I feel if you left a little of the black on the left and some more on the right to help retain the off centre positioning that you appear to have aimed for also crop some of the top. Then with the tulips filling the frame but slightly off centre you may find that the flowers then become more the main focus and the position that you have cut the plant to will no longer seem important. This is just my opinion and the composition as you have presented it may be what pleases you the most and your preference is the most important.
