Table Cape Tasmania

Judges Comments

This landscape conveys a real feel of the scene so often seen in this country. I find my eye wandering through and all around the composition looking for a focal point. I wonder if you had positioned yourself differently you may have conveyed a focal point of perhaps one of the trees with the others complementing the focus. Or even getting down lower might have made a feature to the different layers of texture in the image. In a perfect world the sky could have been kinder to you by allowing more detail to show. Perhaps a little dodging and burning could help more details to be apparent. The broken tree stumps in the water could be played up a little with different positioning. As the chance of being on location again may not be an option in the near future you might like to play with a portrait crop as I feel the height of the trees could seem more impressive and the other details like grass, water, tree stumps may seem more in contrast proportion. You may find you have more than one image in this composition, it is even possible that this could convert into a very pleasing triptych.
