Running Water

Thursday 14th April - Day 117

If it is on the west side of town, it must be the West Okement River :) In all honesty, these houses look a bit too close to the river for my liking. Not so much for flooding and undermining - after all they have been here for a long time, and it isn't flood plain land - but for having to sleep next to the sound of running water. Ohhhhh.

Just done the main packing... :)

Perfect in Black and White. Such depth....to me the photo has an aged feel. Just wonderful!

Well the way the weather patterns are changing there's always a chance that one night....eek, don't want to think about it anymore.

Ooooo...those houses are waaaayyyyy too close to the river...but I the thought of the sound of the water may be very soothing to take a snooze. Nice capture,Lee. When are you leaving for SD?

It would be wonderful to sleep to the sound of a meandering river....as long is it doesn't flood!!!

Much better than sleeping within earshot of the M25!

Another really good B+W, well done.

the deeper parts are about 18 inches, but only 2-3 in places

Ahhhhh, sleeping next to running water---heaven on earth. Lovely photo. How deep is this water?
Lee Rudd14-Apr-2005 19:47
theres a story here.... I used to use the sound of the sea lapping on a beach as my sleep image (I'm a lousy sleeper). That was until I actually slept on a beach - hey it was deliberate, I wasnt drunk at all. Thats why I'd dread listening to the running water while sleeping. Oh, and the pressure to get up and go to the loo every 5 minutes, lol

Beautiful shot. Peaceful and comforting. I would love to sleep in one of these houses next to that river; I bet it beats the noise of the 405!

That wall, front right, does look a bit unsafe!
