A massive bird of Prey (the fourth largest species of Eagle in the world), these birds have been successfully re-introduced to western Scotland where there are now around 30 breeding pairs. In 2007 a new re-introduction scheme for the east of Scotland was initiated with young birds being released from a secret location in north Fife. Hopefully these birds will quickly settle in & who knows perhaps these flying barn doors will become a regular sight in Fife & Perthshire.
