Scotland remains an international stronghold for this superb Falcon. Persecution of upland Peregrines continues in Scotland however pairs have colonised a number of areas in the lowlands. There are now eyries on power-station chimneys & factory buildings whilst other sites such as old quarries have also been colonised. However the eyrie on the Scottish Wildlife Trust Falls of Clyde Reserve has to be the most accessible & attractive. The SWT have a viewing facility providing an amazing view of the eyrie which is situated in a very narrow wooded gorge. Unfortunately the relatively low light levels make long lens work difficult but the beauty of the surroundings more than compensate for this.
