Brent Geese are fairly rare birds in Scotland though small numbers move through on passage whilst a few winter on some east coast estuaries.
These images are primarily of the pale-bellied race B.bernicla hrota, a small flock of which often winters on the outer Eden estuary near St Andrews. Less commonly a few Dark-bellied Brent Geese can be seen -usually just in ones or twos.
