Only Grey-lag Geese are native Scottish breeders. However Scotland holds huge populations of arctic/subarctic breeding Geese in winter including Pink-foot, Greenland White-fronts & Barnacle Geese with smaller numbers of Taiga Bean Geese & Brent Geese. Each winter there are usually a few vagrants of various other species/subspecies which may include Tundra Bean Geese, Eurasian White-fronts, Lesser Snow Geese (both blue & white morphs)& 'small-type' Canada Geese. Others such as Red-breasted Goose & Ross's Goose are also sometimes found though the provenance of such birds is always in question.
