Mary Sergeant fabricated this winning design during the 1966-1967 school year. On the day students were vacating the school premises in the wake of the 1979 Soviet invasion, Ken Coleman noticed the flag flying and decided to take it. At the 1990 Colorado Springs AISK/Old Hands reunion, he presented it to organizers Dave Dustin and Rich Owens, who unfurled the flag for the astonished crowd. It has accompanied members on the 2003 Scorpion trip to Kabul, and has appeared at subsequent AISK reunions.
