Roots

Los Angeles, CA

* 9-15-06 *

This wonderful tree had roots that stretched 3 car lengths ~
Deep, large crevices crack the concrete sidewalk as the thick
branches reach for the blue sky hidden by the skyscrapers ~

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Amazing tenacity of nature. Even surrounded by concrete, the tree is able to make a comeback and sruvive.

I hope they let the roots win over the concrete.
Curbs, walls and walkways can be moved.
Majestic trees like this should be left alone.
Great picture.

Well grounded :). Don't let public works know about all that damage ;)

I was going to say that it looked like a fig but Laine beat me to it. So I'll say it's a very large fig. :^)

Looks like a fig tree by those roots. Those roots will move houses :>O
