They're seed pods. Scott is right, they are VERY similar to lilium seedpods, even if they are from an Aloe :-)

These were some kind of funky pods that stuck out completely horizontally from the bloom of a short stumpy aloe... I have seen many cacti/succulent blooms, but never pods of some sort coming from them
