It is busy and I am not sure whether it is too busy or not. Gary certainly made a strong point, and I do agree with it. But there is something fascinating to me about all the activity (in the form of shapes and textures) in this shot. I am almost in awe of everything that is going on.

Kiddo this is great. One of your best shots. Vote.

I do like the black & white... but I agree with you, there are a lot of details. So, both are great and both give us different feelings.

Here's my take. The image is a bit "busy" with a lot to absorb. If it were me, I would have cropped most of the tree on the left and most of the bottom of the image from the frame. The subject is the waterfall, so I'd want the composition to "move in" on that. The tonal range is good, the "stop action" on the water is spot on. So, even though there is some rich texture in the bark of the tree, I think it's too much of a good thing and I'd cut it out. You could even trim some from the right hand side of the image as well. I would keep about 75% of the original composition, were it up to me. Hope this helps!

Crystal-clear in B'W. Much to see and appreciate.

Love the textures and detail. It is a busy image: Should that be avoided? It's hard to say. Generally speaking a picture should have a definite subject or tell a story. In my view this image certainly tells a story. That said I prefer the color version though the B&W is also very nice in its own right.

I think it is easier to read in color, but the b&w is more striking.

Well it certainly is busy Colleen.
Certainly not boring.

I like the black and white. It it a very complex image but I'm fascinated by the variety of shapes and textures.
