Both work well but I like the B&W. To me it seems the B&W achieves greater isolation from the BG than the color.

This is an excellent b&w conversion, much prefer it to the colour,

It's amazing what you find out on a challenge like this. I'm most surprised how much interest there is in the B&W version. We see something we wouldn't see in the colour version because the latter is so familiar.

Terrific work. It's hard to transmit the art and beauty of a flower in B&W, but this is very nice.
