Flower Sex Ed. 101

Simi, CA

* 2-5-06 *

The anther (the rounded tops) and the filament (the stems)
are apart of the male parts of a flower...

The mid section, known as the pistil, is the female parts
of a flower, & can be broken down into 4 separate sections.
It is within these parts, specifically in the stigma, that
the pollen from the anther is trapped... (had enuf yet?)

Flowers such as roses are considered perfect, as they have
both male & female parts. Other plants, such as cucumbers or
pumpkins are impfect, as they only have one or the other.

This is wonderful. I love the slightly decayed look that the B&W and framing suggests.
