After a Covid 2020 where we didn't get to see our families or friends, we were raring to go in 2021. Norah and I had two months off from school and we really made use of our time. We took off immediately the last day of school for our Colorado and Nebraska trip. Our primary objective was visiting my parents in western Nebraska and we spent some time in Colorado going and coming home (Mesa Verde NP, Manitou Springs). We were home for a few days then headed west to California for Steve to run the famous Western States race. It was ridiculously hot, but he finished - woot!

Norah and I again were only home for a few days to regroup before flying to the east coast. We spent a week in North Carolina, mostly in the western part of the state to stay with Steve's mom. We also had a chance to see friends in Raleigh before flying to New York for the second leg of our trip. We lived in the Hudson Valley for twenty years and it was hard to leave our friends, so it was fantastic to be back. Our time was jam packed with activities, dinners, and spending time with friends. We also were able to make it to NYC and braved the heat and humidity to traipse all over the city seeing the sights and seeing the Kusama exhibit at the New York Botanical Garden. It was a terrific trip and overall a great summer!
