After Mesa Verde National Park we had two more nights in Durango and Littleton before arriving in Gordon. Most of these two days were spent driving, but we did do an Escape Room in Littleton and had to make our obligatory stop at Carhenge outside of Alliance. Our week in Gordon was laid back and relaxing; we spent a lot of time with my parents and the kitties (it was several summers ago we were there when Maisie and Freya came home as kittens - so it has been fun to see how they have grown), played many games of Oh Hell, and made a few trips to Rapid City, SD. On our overnight trip we visited Big Thunder Gold Mine, drove through Bear Country USA (fun - loved all the animals and so many bears!), ate at the Colonial House, walked around downtown, and had a leisurely evening in our downtown hotel. Before Norah and I left Gordon, I cajoled everyone into taking family pictures (I mean, I do this every year, so this was not a surprise to anyone). Between a grumpy Grandpa and an “over it” teen, that was a lot of fun, ha ha. But I was happy to get a few good pictures out of the session. After a long hiatus because of Covid, it was great for us to be together again!
