Our first stop in our Verona wanderings was Piazza Bra, the largest square in Verona and home to one of the most famous landmarks: The Arena. The Arena is the second largest Roman amphitheater (only the Colosseum is larger) and was built in the early first century. The arena currently seats 15,000 and in ancient times the capacity was over 30,000.
