When Daniela let me know she was ready to come visit us at the Grand Canyon, I immediately jumped into planning mode to craft a week-long itinerary to show her a little piece of the Southwest. There are so many beautiful spots in the Southwest that it’s always a challenge deciding what to cut (in this case Bryce just missed out). Based on time of year, available days, and priorities (e.g. Daniela has been a member of Best Friends Animal Sanctuary for awhile and this was her opportunity to see the Utah location in person) I think we hit on a fun itinerary that maximized our time without feeling rushed. Antelope Canyon was definitely a highlight for Daniela (and was fun for me to revisit - what gorgeous sandstone), Daniela was a trooper hiking in the dark for a windy sunrise at Canyon Overlook in Zion, and we both considered it a success that we left Best Friends without any cats. Overall it was a great trip!
